Description

This is a beta test image of southern globular NGC 2808 that was centered and guided by a Celestron SSAG guidescope/guider with plate solve and multi-star guiding ability.

The mount was aligned and polar aligned using the routines in the SSAG, and then the target was centered using precise goto of the SSAG (with centering based on local plate solves).  At that point I commanded the SSAG to begin guiding - and then began to take exposures for one hour total in R, G, B with exposures of 60 seconds.

The image has not been cropped so you can see the centering performed by the SSAG and its plate solves.  The only processing on the image was a gradient removal in PI (I am in Bortle 8 with 18.5 mag/arc-sec^2) and stretch in photoshop.

The resulting fwhm's are around 1.7"

There is some chromatic blur in the corners due I think to focus shift in the Astronomik filters.  I don't normally use these filters and did not apply focus shifts per filter.
